Market House Uplift 2025
The Town Trust are currently working with partners to uplift the shopping experience at Market House. We want to support our fantastic traders who sell quality local produce along with encouraging more shoppers to visit, whilst of course making sure we look after our prominent heritage building. We have partnered with local architects DBA and have been successful in obtaining funding through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. We will be adding photos to our gallery and hope that people will share this journey with us.
Garstang Town Trust – Market House Uplift - Update Febuary 2026
Garstang Town Trust is pleased to announce that Phase 1 of our Market House Uplift is now complete. Robinson Construction and our Architect, DBA Architects, have worked tirelessly to ensure the work has been completed on time and to budget.
Phase 1 of the project concerned mainly structural enhancements and greater energy efficiency. This has seen a new roof, solar panels and a new glass door to create a warmer environment and improved ambience for traders and customers.
Phase 2 of the project, which will see more design led improvements, will be carried out when further funding becomes available.
This phase of the project was part funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It is administered locally by Lancashire Combined County Authority and Wyre Council who we thank for their continued support.
Ian Sewart, Chair of the Garstang Town Trust said;
It’s been a long journey but we now have an upgraded Market House that will be sustainable and enable its success and relevance well into the future. We are really pleased with the end result and love how it has created a more leisurely shopping environment for our customers and the support it offers our traders selling local fresh produce.
I wish to thank our funding partners who without, this project would not have been possible and to anyone, for their patience, if any inconvenience was caused during the build. Robinson Construction and our architect Dan, from DBA Architects, have worked hand in hand to ensure this great result.
We will now look into the future and to securing the funds that will enable Phase 2 of our project to go ahead.
Looking forward to seeing you in our uplifted Market House.
